My home page shows just the tip of my craft.....

I tune, regulate, repair and completely restore and refinish all makes and models of pianos and have been for over 20 years here in CT. However, over the years and through referrals, I've expanded my service to the additional states of Rhode Island and Southern Mass. From small Spinets to Concert Grand Pianos, no repair is too small or restoration too large. I also perform appraisals for insurance purposes, i.e., damage due to acts of nature, and appraisals of family heirlooms on priceless vintage pianos of all manufactures. All aspects of my craft are performed solely by me. (Other than the stripping of cabinet parts, duplication of Bass Strings and Pinblock Duplications that I send out.) All fine cabinet finishing, soundboard repair, pinblock drilling, re-pinning, restringing, with reproductions of the originals, new hammers, shanks and flange replacements, damper felts, damper regulation, action regulation and a total of 10 tunings to achieve A440hz tuning stability with 5 chippings done prior the fine tunings, are all done solely by me.

In my late teenage years.....

I was very fortunate to apprentice under a Master Craftsman Tuner/Technician who taught me every aspect of how pianos work, their differences from model to model, size to size and their similarities. Little did I know in my late teenage years that I was looking at a career, as I was just curious at that stage in my life of the workings and construction of pianos, being an upcoming hopeful aspiring pianist/musician.

Taking piano lessons as a young boy.....

starting at the age of 5 through my college years, I've learned how to make a piano sing the way my ear and mind wanted it to. Yes, I was a rebel, to play something as it was written was as exciting to me as watching paint dry! However, with the help of my instructors and professors over the years, I've learned how to use my imagination to make what is written to work with my own spin on it, coupled with writing my own music as well. I have played in many music venues, from rock, to jazz, to top forty, to show tunes with orchestras, bands, trios and even solo piano bar settings. I made a wonderful living at that for many years, seeing much of the world and working with some of the most incredible talented musicians world wide. My heartfelt loving thanks go out to my parents who had to force me to practice an hour a day or I wasn't allowed to play baseball or football. So, reluctantly, I did practice, just so I could play my sports. At the time, I thought is was cruel, but the gift they gave me being stern is immeasurable.

Many times in my younger years....

making a career in performance, our agents had the opportunity to rent Concert Grand Pianos for a show. The pianos always came with a tuner/technician and after the tuner/technician was done with prepping the piano, tuning and regulating, I found that most times, I wasn't happy and found myself inside the piano making tuning and regulating adjustments that suited me and it always sounded better and felt (the touch) better to me when I was done. I found, that even though I was very happy performing with musicians of incredible talent in all the music venues I was fortunate enough to play in, being inside the piano making it just right was more pleasing to me than even performing. Alas, as that light went on above my head, I chose to come back home and do what I truly love, making my career as a Piano Tuner/Technician/Restorer. It was a great decision and over the past 20 plus years, I've happily been doing what I love and enjoy most.

My humble thanks go....

out to my old and best friend Fran, he being the Master Piano Craftsman Tuner/ Technician who took me under his wing teaching me all the nuts and bolts workings of a piano and how critical it is to always achieve the best in fine tunings, repairs and restorations. This is the sort of career that lends itself to word of mouth referrals and as I've been taught by the best and proud to keep the highest standards of my craft, I've been blessed with my never ending, growing and rewarding career.

Coupled with my Tuning, Repair and Restoration Service....

I still perform occasionally, mostly in solo settings. In my down time, I sit at my piano here in my home and write new music. Occasionally, I arrange music for other area musicians/writers and sing lead and/or backup vocals. As of late, I've been performing cocktail smooth jazz for in home settings such as parties, weddings, anniversaries, ect.. I enjoy meeting folks and performing old jazz standards that we all remember and enjoyed listening to with our parents' music in our youths. Sing along venues are always fun as well, and normally this happens with just a fun time for all, especially me.

All the best...
